Thay Mantesso began her screenwriting career in her teenage years through the Instituto Querô in Santos (SP), where she wrote her first feature film, “Sócrates” (2018), nominated for the John Cassavetes Award at the Film Independent Spirit Awards. She began work on her second feature in early 2019, “7 Prisioneiros” (2021), for which she received her first nomination for Best Original Screenplay at the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro. Her résumé also includes contributions to series such as “Sintonia” (Netflix), “Corrida dos Bichos” (Globoplay), and “Use sua Voz” (HBO), her most recent work. She is currently part of the writers’ room for director Cao Hamburger’s upcoming feature film.
