With a distinctive and unconventional aesthetic, Rodrigo has directed documentaries across various parts of the world. Among his works are the short fiction film “DETALHES CONJUNTOS” (2015, 14 min) – Official Selection at InCorto Italia and New York City Int Cine Fest; the reality series “DESAFIO DE LOS VOLCANES” (2015) – about the world’s toughest adventure race, filmed in the Andes, aired on AXN; and the documentary “MENINOS AO MAR” (2016) – about seven young people living on a 41-foot sailboat during the Rio Olympics, broadcast on TV5 France Thalassa. He also directed the documentary series “FRONTEIRAS MÉDICAS” (2018), portraying the journeys of doctors from the Médecins Sans Frontières program, filmed in Guinea-Bissau and Brazil; and “PROJETO AMAZÔNIA” (2019), a series that explores the lives of Indigenous peoples across Brazil. His short documentary “10/03” (2023, 16 min) tells the story of cyclist David Santos after losing his arm in an accident caused by a drunk driver on Avenida Paulista – Official Selection at Rock Spirit, É Tudo Verdade, Ciclo Pinheiros, CineSport; Winner of Best Film and Most Inspiring Film at Rock Spirit 2023. He is currently developing the true crime documentary series “GISBERTA”, about the murder of Gisberta Salce Junior in Portugal by 14 children from a Catholic institution, and the feature documentary “TÂNIA MARIA”, about one of the greatest jazz musicians in the world and her battle with Alzheimer’s. Beyond entertainment, Rodrigo has directed over 200 commercials, winning awards at festivals such as Cannes Lions, El Ojo, and Wave Festival.
