Lorenna Montenegro is a journalist, film critic, curator, screenwriter, and screenwriting instructor at the International Film Academy (AIC). She is a member of the Elviras Collective, ABRA (Brazilian Screenwriters Guild), and Abraccine. Affiliated with FORCINE, Lorenna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, studied Audiovisual Production at PUCRS, and earned a postgraduate specialization in Cinema and Audiovisual Language at Estácio de Sá. She also teaches Documentary Screenwriting at Célia Helena Superior School of Arts in the graduate program in Performing Arts. Lorenna offers courses and workshops on film history and criticism, screenwriting and audiovisual storytelling, building affirmative characters, the heroine’s journey, and feminist filmology — such as Pioneers of Cinema, co-taught with film critic, cultural journalist, and documentarian Flavia Guerra. She is an international voter for the Golden Globes and publishes film reviews and coverage of festivals and showcases on her blog Kinemacríticas.com. Since 2020, she has curated the As Amazonas do Cinema Festival.
